In the spirit of reconciliation the Australasian Medical Services Coalition acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Our Logo:
The logo of AMSC is inspired by a circle representing unity and community. The five arms of the circle represent our core values – Inclusivity, Equity, Empowerment, Collaboration, and Sustainability. The intertwining arms also symbolize the healthcare professionals working hand-in-hand. The arms reach outwards, alluding to the expanding universe and the unlimited potential of AMSC in adopting unprecedented representation and camaraderie across health disciplines.
Our Story:
The founding members of AMSC are a group of medical practitioners who have long felt that an integrative platform that is inclusive, not restrictive to any particular group of healthcare professionals is necessary in order to achieve career parity for all practitioners, effective communication across health disciplines and to raise the standards of clinical practice.
Our founders recognise that Australia as a multicultural country has a high proportion of medical and health professionals who may have experienced relative disadvantage throughout their careers, and commit to support them through vocational planning, continuing professional education, networking, mentorship, scholarships, professional and business support services.
Through nurturing a high quality workforce that is open-minded, competent, respectful and empathic towards the needs of the community, the AMSC founders envisioned being able to reinforce health awareness and further community health education so that they may advance the health of the general community, minority and disadvantaged groups, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
